UAAP Season 87: FEU Tamaraws Surge Into Final Four Contention Behind Explosive Backcourt Drive at MOA Arena
Jorick Bautista and Veejay Pre spearhead a relentless transition attack in green and gold as the FEU Tamaraws stun the blue-clad defense in front of a roaring student crowd.
PASAY CITY — The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws kept their UAAP Season 87 Final Four hopes burning bright on Wednesday afternoon, unleashing a blistering fourth-quarter run at the Mall of Asia Arena to secure a statement victory in second-round elimination play.
Wearing their signature gold and green uniforms, the Tamaraws attacked the paint relentlessly. Dynamic guard Jorick Bautista poured in 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting, repeatedly beating perimeter defenders off the dribble to collapse the interior defense and open up kick-out triples.
Youth Movement Under Sean Chambers
Head coach Sean Chambers praised his young Morayta squad's resilience after bouncing back from a slow first-round start: "Our guards are playing fearless basketball right now. When Veejay Pre and Mo Konateh control the defensive rebounds and let our guards run in transition, we can compete with anyone in the league."
